Wolfgang Schön
was Professor at the Rheinische Friedrich Wilhelms University in Bonn.
In 1986 he obtained his doctoral degree. He did his practical training in
Cologne (Oberlandesgericht), Speyer (Verwaltungshochschule), Munich
(Bundesfinanzhof), and London (Solicitors Herbert Smith). In 1992 he
submitted his dissertation and was assigned to Bieleveld University.
In 1996 he was appointed to a chair for Civil Law, Business Law and Tax
Law at Bonn University. In addition, he was Director of the Tax Institute
at Bonn University and Co-Director of the Centre for European Economic Law
at the same University. His main fields in research and teaching are German
and European Company Law, Accounting Law and Tax law. Currently he is the director of the Max Planck
Institute for Intellectual Property, Competition and Tax Law.
