Axel Haelterman Axel Haelterman holds degrees in both law and economic sciences from the University of Leuven, an LL.M from Columbia University New York, and obtained his PhD from the University of Leuven on a thesis concerning tax transparent structures. He practises as an attorney and as a partner of the firm Freshfields Deringer. His tax practice focuses essentially on corporate income taxes, corporate structuring, taxation of financial products, tax litigation and estate planning. He is a professor at the University of Leuven, where he teaches personal and corporate income taxation in the faculty of law and in the faculty of economics.
