Jos Westerburgen
holds a Masters degree in fiscal law from the University of Leiden. From 1969 until 1984 he worked at the Dutch Ministry of Finance in the tax area, his final rank being that of director. He represented the Netherlands in treaty negotiations. From 1977 until 1981 he was chairman of the OECD working party on Tax Avoidance and Evasion. He joined Unilever in 1984 where he currently holds the positions of Joint Secretary of Unilever N.V. and PLC and Head of Taxation. He is i.a. General Treasurer of the IFA and chairman of the Fiscal affairs Group of UNICE.
